    18th Marmaris International Race Week

We would like to welcome you to the 18th Marmaris International Race Week. We are very pleased to host around 100 yachts and 1000 racers from all over the world. We are sure that our prize giving ceremonies and parties will attract you as well as the exciting races. One of this parties is “The Best Dressed Team Night” .

As we have  announced last year, the winner of The Best Dressed Team Night will be paid 175 € yacht entry fee back.

Channel Regatta 2007, the second international offshore sailing race will be hosted in the crystal clear blue waters of the Aegean by the Marmaris International Yacht Club and the Offshore Yachting Club of Rhodes.

The successful organization of 2006 guarantees an even better race for this year. Our ambition is that such race rises to be an important sailing event for the entire region of the Mediterranean. Our aim is to revive a historic course connecting the Asia Minor coasts to the islands of the Aegean Sea.

    Eight hundred young trees planted
  A “National Forestation campaign” has been started by Marmaris City Council's environment team to reforest the land damaged by the fire of 1996.

In the scope of the project, some 800 saplings were planted. Apart from Marmaris Attorney Mayor Zehra Yüzak, Council Chairman H. Şevket Bayındır and Environment Group Chairman Filiz Ersan, some 300 students also participated in the ceremony.
 
     
    New easyJet destinations announced
  Low-cost airline easyJet has announced that a number of new routes will be available for this summer.
 
Among the destinations announced are flights to Ajaccio and Bastia in Corsica as well as routes to Corfu, Dalaman, Gibraltar, Crete, Cyprus, Hurghada, Lanzarote, Madeira, Malta, Mykonos, Montpellier, Nantes and Sharm El Sheik in Egypt.
 
Later this month, it is expected that a deal whereby easyJet purchases Gatwick-based British Airways franchise GB airways will be completed.

Marmaris Council and Marmaris Chamber of Commerce sponsored and Getop (South Aegean Hoteliers Association) organized a stand called Marmaris-Turkey at Manchester Holiday & Travel Show between 11th and 13th January 2008.

 

Greece, Italy, Turkish Northern Cyprus, South Cyprus and other countries sponsored by their governments, but Marmaris-Turkey stand sponsored by themselves and were admired by the professionals and tour operator companies. 
 
Manchester Airport known for sending the second highest amount of holidaymakers to Dalaman region from UK, but the results show that it is apparently in the lead.
